We’re backing Aldi

We have been overwhelmed by the support from the local community for our plans to open a new Aldi at 44 London Road, Amersham.

The volume of responses we have received and the number of people who have written in support of our application to Buckinghamshire Council reaffirm our belief that this is a good site for a new store and residents would welcome the Everyday Amazing products, great choice and low prices that a new store would offer.

Aldi is Britain’s fifth largest supermarket with over 900 stores and around 38,000 employees. Aldi’s proposals include a new food store, customer car parking and landscaping. The store would offer improved shopping choice, high-quality products and unbeatable value for customers.

The proposals would represent a multi-million pound investment in the local area and offer customers additional choice, reducing the need for residents to travel outside Amersham for their grocery shop. A new store would deliver up to 40 full and part-time jobs opportunities.

John Richardson, Regional Managing Director at Aldi said I invite any local resident who would like to show their support to either email the council or register on the council’s planning page and join the many others who have already made their views known.”
